why did they changed the American camo to that grayish digital camo?
yeah i assume that it is because the US will be fighting more urban battles like in the cities, cause i can see that a mile away in the woods, "not literally" but i can see it allot better than the old type-now the marines digital camo works pretty good in the woods, I think they Germans have they best when it comes to forest fighting, but that's just my opinion.
It is supposed to replace all older uniforms so that when a soldier has to go to battle they don't have to worry about the different colors of uniforms. They used to have the camo, dessert, and urban uniforms separately. So depending on your mission it would determine which uniform to wear. Now with the new ACU's you wear it no matter what sort of area you are going into. It is also better for the soldiers because it is less hassle then the older ones. The new uniforms are wash and wear and do not need to be dry cleaned and pressed like the old ones. Patches and rank placement is easier too, as it is Velcro on, and not sewn on. Less time and money for the soldier, or soldier's wife, I should say. (Just speaking from experience)
